The program `Spatial Statistics and Image Analysis for Environment and
Medicine' within the SSF funding area Applied Mathematics is a joint
program between research groups at Lund Institute of Technology and
Chalmers University of Technology, and Swedish industry.

It aims at a combination of advances in spatio-temporal statistics
and mathematical/statistical image analysis, where the two areas could
successfylly support each other. General techniques for modelling and analysis
of stochastic spatial patterns evolving in time are developed in close
cooperation with researchers in applied fields. Applications are mainly
directed towards environment and medicine.
